The fine print
Maltitol: A sugar alcohol used to make ‘no added sugar’ bars. Still raises blood sugar (GI ~35), and past ~20–30 g it’s a reliable laxative. Sugar-free, side-effects-included.
Sucralose: Zero-calorie artificial sweetener. Regulators rate it safe at normal intake; a 2023 lab study flagged a trace impurity (sucralose-6-acetate) as genotoxic in cells. Doses there were far above what a scoop delivers.
FSSAI: 6 g/100 ml · 7.6 g/100 kcal, may legally print “HIGH PROTEIN” via the per-100 ml + per-100 kcal route. Ingredients: milk solids, maltitol (965), sucralose (955), artificial kesar/cream flavours, colours 110 & 102; lactose (sugar) estimated, carbs include polyols.
